Governance

At Pickwick Academy Trust, we are grateful to be very well supported by over 200 governance volunteers across our schools.

Each of our schools has a Local Governance Committee with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and we have a Board of Trustees who are responsible for overseeing the work of the whole Trust.

We also have Members who hold the Trust Board to account and provide support and challenge to the Board.

We provide a strong induction and mentor for new governors and Trustees, and offer governor training six times a year, all of which is recorded to it can be accessed by all governors at a time that suits them.

Meet our Members

The Members are responsible for holding the Trust Board to account.  They appoint and monitor the work of the Trustees and ensure they are upholding the vision and values of the Trust.  They provide support and challenge to the Trust Board.

Meet our Chairs of Local Governance Committees

Our Local Governance Committees are committees of the Trust Board and are responsible for providing support and challenge to a specific school around vision, ethos, curriculum, standards and pupil experience.  LGCs have the best interests of the school and the local community at their heart.

The core functions of a Local Governance Committee are: ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school; holding the Head to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and providing support to monitor school expenditure.
