Corsham Primary Joins Community Poppy Project

Corsham Primary was proud to take part in the Corsham Peacock Women's Institute and Corsham Town Council Poppy Project.  Children from both our Pound Pill and Broadwood sites worked alongside members of the community to knit and create poppy pom-poms, forming part of a stunning display across Corsham to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Second World War.

The original goal was to produce 10,000 poppies to decorate the town.  Thanks to incredible teamwork and dedication, the community create over 30,000 poppies!

During October half term, Her Majesty Queen Camilla visited Corsham to view the display.  She met children from Corsham Primary, who proudly demonstrated how to make a poppy, before greeting more of our pupils during her walkabout.  It was a truly memorable and proud moment for our school.
